Vibrant Thailand! – Part 2

During day time, we went for local sight seeing in Phuket. All the spots are crowded by tourists and their guides. The place is otherwise cool and calm.

At one place we took a ride on elephant! I was actually saying no because long back, i had decided not to bother animals in anyway. But then my hubby said, we are not going to hurt him in anyway so we went on. Well, it didn’t turn out to be that exciting. Instead we had to be under hot (vibrant) sun for a while. On top of the, the elephant owner said we will have to tip him if we want him to take our photo. We were like as if we are not already fooled that you are asking for separate tip. Except this, everything else was fine.

Later the guide took us to a Buddha temple. Temples here are a bit different from those in India. They are different with reference to design and not structure. Also, like we generally have elephants or tigers at the entrance of any temple, they have dragons! They are obviously less crowded than Indian temples and are more calm.

We also visited a pearl factory. In the factory they showed how the pearls are processed and made ready to make ornaments. There are 2 kinds of pearls – fresh water pearl and sea water pearl. Fresh water pearl are comparatively cheaper as there are more than one in single oyster. Unlike sea water pearl which grows only one in single oyster.
The factory had a huge fish tank, kind of a replica of sea.

Next day, we went to near by Islands. There are many Islands named Phi phi island, Maya bay, James bond Island, etc.
We managed to take few photos before we lost my hubby’s phone to my stupidity 😦 I knew it wasn’t water proof and still i told him to put it in his pant’s pocket while we were in the water!!! I know that sounds so, so stupid. But that’s what happened. Never mind. Let’s enjoy the photos.

Here ended our Phuket stay. Next day we went to Bangkok. Our guide had showed us some Indian hotels were we used to lunch and dine. Just next to one of those hotel, was a bike rent shop. Tourists who come here rent a bike and roam around on bike. But to rent the bike we have to submit our original passport. Which we thought was bit risky. So we dropped the plan of renting a bike. My husband was little disappointed. However he did click some photos with his favorite bike!
