Focus shift!

I realized that I have totally ignored my List, the soul purpose of starting this blog.

I just got carried away for some reason. And now I think I should focus back on my bucket list.

Only interesting update about the list is – I could strike off one thing!! That is completing a marathon!!! *applauds and whistles and drums*

1 out of 40.

And yet I have not given up on my list. I think deserves all the applauds and whistles and drums!!

A lot like that…

I have always liked to brag about the fact that I like to watch movies! A lot of them, but not all of them. I also think of myself as superior to others who just prefer to watch mainstream cinema. And I will literally bow down to those who watch more movies like me and more than me. I know they are a lot of them.

My logic is simple. I watch movies with lot of involvement. And after this much involvement, which I don’t make in any other things, dead or alive, I expect to get something in return. And especially when we don’t have to do any hard work to get the returns, we expect even more 😉

When I was young, I would watch any movie I could grab my hands on. Yeah, because I had access to very few movies. And then, I never really thought through the story-line or the plot or the acting. I would just be happy with a happy ending or getting to watch beautiful looking people for 2 – 3 hours.

Raining Movies!!!

I have always been fond of movies. Why should one not be? They take us to a different world all together, a world of imagination. And especially when I was introduced to Hollywood, I realized, this imagination knows no bounds!

In past of couple of years though, I got too busy with my life and I couldn’t actually make a plan to watch the movies. I even made a list of movies which I thought I must watch but I just couldn’t find the time.

But now I say, f**k the list 😀

Because we (husband and I) took a pass to our nearby theater and we can now watch unlimited movies!!!!!!!! We have decided to watch all the upcoming movies, except the ghost movies, I don’t really like them. but my husband does, so I am not really sure if we are completely going to boycott them 😦

We have already seen 3 movies – Kahaani 2, Inferno and The Accountant. And there are 3 more planned for this weekend – Befikre, Fantastic Beasts and where to find them(IMAX) and Arrival!

I love the way things are turning out. I would wonder if I could ever get addicted to something. I mean, I wanted to see how it is to live a life completely in control of something else, like alcohol or smoking. But till now, I couldn’t dare to drink a thing that is highly alcoholic or I havent smoked even once. Now I think, why do I have to get addicted to these things when I can get addicted to watching movies? And it is not even that harmful, isn’t it? 😀

We come back from office, have dinner and then go the theater 😀 this is the best thing I can ask for. And since it is getting colder, we would rather sit in a cinema hall than to wander in the cool lanes of Amsterdam.

It is also one of things from my bucket list, to watch lots and lots of movies!!

What do you say? Do you enjoy watching movies? Which one is your favorite? What genre do you like? With whom do you prefer to watch movies? Do share! I wanna know!

Best of both worlds!!

Today was a normal day. I was doing my daily chores and all of a sudden an old song came to my mind and in no time I began humming it.

You get the best of both worlds,
Chill it out, take it slow,
Then you rock out the show.
Mix it all together
And you know
That it’s the best of both worlds!

The title track of the show Hannah Montana! Whoo! It is one of my favorite shows that i grew up watching. And i still wish they will air it again and i can watch it like always! It was not just about the teen popstar who lived 2 lives but also about friendship, about parents, about living our lives and above all it was a comedy drama! My brother and I loved the part of Jackson, Recco and Billy Ray Stuart!

Before, i thought of sharing this on fb as my status, feeling nostalgic and a link to this song. Then a thought visited my mind. Why shouldn’t i share it on my blog as well? I haven’t been here since long, long time. And so, here I am! I am sharing links to some of my favorite Miley Cyrus songs, who played the role of Hanna Montana aka Miley Stuart!

The Rockstar

The bone dance-

Make some noise!

The Climb –  from Hannah Montana the movie!

Who said

Party in the USA

7 things

She was 12 something when she started as Hanna Montana, and she is still a Popstar! She was like with me in every phase of my life. And she still there as i grow up 🙂

Wrecking ball!

I lover her even today. Although i just cant imitate her clothes, which i did otherwise 🙂

Keep going Miley! Time is on your side!!

The sex and the city!

This weekend i had been to my cousin’s place. And i must not forget to mention that she is the one with whom i share a very, very close bond. We like grew up liking same things. Even if we stay distance apart and say if we meet after long we still end up watching same movies or liking same Actor. So my point, we just know what other person gonna like and what the other person is going through or what is other one expecting.

So after went to her i actually vented about lot many things going wrong in my life. They are actually not wrong but like something i hadn’t expected. For instance staying away from my husband for this long. Being unemployed and not wanting to do anything. She listened to all of it and in some cases she did try to comfort me. It didn’t work obviously.

But then she introduced me to this series – ‘The sex and the city’. She told me i am gonna Like it and that the protagonist is a writer. Well, that sounds cool and we saw 1st episode of 1st season. Although i was quite sleepy that time i started watching it after coming back home. And i am hooked. I am going to finish off the first season today itself!

Now about the serial. I loved all the 4 ladies. Although i would like to be like Carrie i think i am more like Charlotte. After watching Carrie i feel like yes i should too write a column or like on particular topic once week and of course with some research. I also noticed that she looks very attractive when she puts her make up and gets ready to go out while otherwise she looks quite ordinary. It makes me think that i also need to be ready to look little pretty that is i need to take care my self more than i do now. Especially after getting married and now that my hubby is not even around and i am unemployed i have really become careless. I am actually losing interest in things. Maybe going over to parents place might help me a bit. Because i am unemployed and saving all my Money for the time when i will join my husband i am not even able to shop. But i am still going to get something for me this weekend. It really helps, the shopping therapy.

Also i have decided to read this book – the sex and The city. I haven’t read a good book like in years.

Maybe i will get some good topic to write about. Or i think of writing a fictional story. I have always thought of what if my husband and i would have had love marriage instead of arranged? How we would have met? Who would have asked? And so on. Maybe that will be interesting! Or do you have a better idea? What do you think? Let me know!

The Movie List

Now that I have all the time on the earth, I have decided to have a movie marathon! It is one of the things from my bucket list. I actually want that there shouldn’t be a single movie that I haven’t seen.

Game of Thrones!

There are two kinds of people in this world, one are those who are totally hooked by the violence, nudity, brazenness and politics shown in Game of Thrones and others who are not at all interested in it. I definitely belong to the first kind! And that’s why this post.

I recently finished watching all the 5 seasons of GOT. And how long it took? 1 month or may be 1 and half month. It is actually more time than how much it usually takes for other people i guess because once you start watching it, you can’t really hold yourself. You just want to know what happens next!

Initially, I didn’t have any idea about this series. But all of a sudden I felt like everyone around me is just talking about it. Even my brother who was in the middle of sea somewhere in the east Asia downloaded those episodes and watched them and I felt like, yeah it’s the time I watch them too. At first I was scared by the white walkers they showed right in the beginning of the first episode of first season. I turned it off then and there. I thought it is something about ghost or zombies. Some how I gathered courage and thought of watching it when everyone is around and there is a lot of chaos so that there will be earthly feeling. And thank God for that! It was the best decision to go ahead and watch!!

Why? Because I think it is one of the best thing happen on TV. Well, it’s not just me who thinks so, many others do. All who belong to first of the 2 categories I mentioned above. They have shown people getting beheaded, they have shown people having s**. They have shown dirty politics that gets other people killed and no one cares. They have shown everything that is reality. Unlike other serials or movies or even books where they tend to have happy endings or they show that good actions have good consequences, GOT shows us that life is not about being good, it is about being right. And right is not in the eyes of God but right thing to do to save our own ass. If you have to survive, you can’t think about others. You just have to think what is to be done to save your head from getting slaughtered. Isn’t it true even in our real life? Sometimes our goodness serves us good, but not always. It’s the right things done at right time that actually reward us. Good things always make us sacrifice our happiness.

The other peculiar thing is the women portrayed. It is not a women-centric story. In fact every character is unique and makes its own impression in a very unique way. But the women are equally important. They are not weak. They might make mistakes but they are strong enough to correct them, to learn new things and to avenge their enemies. They make their choices and the live with it with courage. Even the belligerent Cercei can be thought of as a powerful woman shaping the story considerably.

My favorite characters of all is Jon Snow ❤ I know he is already favorite of many but that is not going to stop me from liking him. I am not sure about the books, but in the series I think the actor Kit Harrington has given a different angle to the role. A windings’ leader is heard saying he is prettier than both of his daughters. But he is as brave as any other Ranger of night watch and as honorable as any other Stark child. And so was his death – as depressing as any other favorite character. 😦

Now that I am done with all the 5 seasons that have been aired, i feel a bit relaxed. At the same time a bit tensed when I think about Jon, Arya, Sansa and Theon, Tyrion, Danerys, Tommen. And of course the Mountain! I mean I am worried if he is going to kill the Tyrells. Oh God! Somebody take him away!

Everybody’s fate is uncertain and it will be revealed only in April 2016 when the next season will release. Till that time, all I can do is concentrate on reading some books and keep an eye on the spoilers 😛 There is no doubt that the coming season is going to be more happening than earlier season as it happened with every season. I am just glad I caught up quite early and now I can join others in their excitement!

Till then, Valar Dohaeris!

A deeper look into Tanu weds Manu returns

Tanu weds Manu Returns

Tanu weds Manu Returns

When I wrote my last review on Tanu Weds Manu Returns, I also went through other reviews to check out what people had to say about it.

One point everybody agreed to was that – it was definitely entertaining! And all had performed exceptionally well to make you want to see it.

But some viewers have some issues regarding the story line. About the 2 different characters played by Kangna, about falling in love and about marriage and remarriage.
Here is my opinion on these issues.

1. Tanu leaving her husband in mental asylum and flirting with other guys –
Before I saw the movie, my cousin and her mom, my aunt had already seen it and I happen to meet them. And then my cousin told me how my aunt was unhappy with Tanu for herself flirting with other guys and still wanting her husband and all love from him. I didn’t know the story but I knew Tanu. So this was something expected from her. I didn’t mind it and just took it as a compliment to Kangna for her performance. I mean, if I do the same thing, it is definitely gonna make everyone at my house furious. I thought she acted well.
But when I saw the movie, I realized what it was not just flirting. And she didn’t intend to play with all other hearts. And she didn’t have anything to do with her Doctor husband.
All she wanted was to be happy. She was trying all the possible ways to make herself happy. And I don’t think anything is wrong in that. Till you cross your moral line and you are the only one, yourself to decide your moral line. And it’s not that she didn’t love her husband. She definitely did. But it happens sometimes that we are so bored with our life, with everything in it. We start blaming other people, we just don’t care about anybody else. We just want a break. Like, for example, in office someday we might just not feel like doing any work. So we just meander, waste our time doing nothing. Although the coming day we might end up doing double work than our capacity, but that break of one day is required. If think of this example on a wider scale, in Tanu’s life, she needed that break. She didn’t know what to do. So she just did what she felt would make her happy. She took a break from her boring life. Of course , in the end we can see, that even she realized she did something wrong and she might have to pay a big amount for that. But then, she is Tanu, we expect that from her!

2. Manu falling in love with Kusum –
Even his friend Pappi says – ‘Are you going to follow every girl who looks like Tanu?’ And it drifted me to the first part. I really didn’t like the Manu who was so crazy about Tanu that he couldn’t think of anyone else. He finally decides not to marry anybody, stay single. I was like, what an idiot he is! Life never ends if one person says ‘No’. And Manu was a Doctor. You know how big deal it is to be a Doctor, that too in London! Man! Get some self-respect! That was me 4 years back. Today, I have seen some more of the world, experienced new feelings and learnt better lessons. My first thought was, he is Manu, is obviously mad in love. He is emotional, and he is heartbroken as before and he don’t know what to do. So again he trying to please his hear, himself by having a girl who looks like Tanu and who is also in love with him. That sounds like a bonus! He is not in the mental state of mind to figure out if he is doing is right or not. Yes, it was a hasty step and an expected one in that situation. Now suppose, if Tanu wouldn’t have left him. Instead is she would have died, will his behavior need so much of explanation? Definitely not. Then we will think he is in grief.

3. But how does Kusum falls in love with a guy who is 40+ and is already married?
The movie itself answers it. In the movie, Kusum admits – ‘I have always looked up to guys as if a brother or a competition. There could never be any other relation.’ Well, Manu was her first crush. Do you remember your first crush? Do we ever think how that person looks? What must be his age? What is his background? No we don’t. Because that feeling is totally new to us. And we just don’t care to get into all those details. That’s what is crush all about, isn’t it? Even Kusum tend to ignore all the things. Thankfully, she didn’t have to marry the wrong person just because she had a crush on him!

Is that enough?

I don’t know what is the real reason behind writing this post, defending the movie.
It actually an attempt to make my thoughts more clear. Writing is helpful In this aspect.
When I would read other reviews, I would think, if other movies would have such story, would have I liked them too? Of course, Tanu Weds Manu Returns is a perfect blend of everything, but is it hiding the flaws in the story, that others are pointing at? Now I don’t think so. The story is just as it should be. Maybe there are too many coincidences like finding a look alike, and both the lovers find the other one almost at the same time, etc… But then it is a fiction movie. Nobody said it was real. But it still has a real touch.

If you haven’t watched it, go watch it now!

Tanu Weds Manu Returns

The movie is so all over my mind!
132 minutes of complete adventurous ride is ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’!

Tanu weds Manu Returns

Tanu weds Manu Returns

I had seen Tanu Weds Manu, and honestly speaking, I didn’t like it much. The movie was nice, everyone’s acting was goo too. But I just didn’t like some part of the story.
So I was little unsure about the sequel. But the trailer was definitely catchy and made me want to see the movie.

And last Sunday I went finally! And it fulfilled all my expectations!!

It has perfect spice to keep you glued to the screen. I couldn’t even wait for the short interval to finish, I just wanted to know what happens next.

Kusum and Tanu

Kusum and Tanu

The lead lady has double role and both the ladies make you feel more energetic. They display self-respect, self-love and willingness to enjoy life as it comes. The story is quite simple. After 4 years of married life there is some stagnancy between the couple and they feel they have lost the spark. Tanu returns back to Kanpur, India her home town leaving her husband in mental asylum. 😛 It’s not that she doesn’t love him. Maybe she just needs some break, or need to relieve her happy life as it was when she was single.

Manu also comes back. Then there is some misunderstanding and Manu decides that Tanu don’t need him anymore and he decides to remarry. His second wife is a look alike of Tanu, but younger, less flashy and more thoughtful. She is Kusum. Kusum also falls in love with Manu despite of his age and him being already married.

Do they get married? Or Tanu wed Manu again?

Generally I am very much into telling stories but I really want people to go and watch it! And if you need company, let me know I will love to join you!

Happening story, thoughtful dialogs, perfect characters, quality acting and the Kangna Ranaut!

The movie is a must watch!

Dum Lagake Haisha

Aah! What a beautiful movie! And the lead lady!!

I can’t stop thinking about her. 🙂

Of course the hero is already my favorite, but the lady just made her debut in Bollywood and she has successfully occupied place in minds of thousands of her fans, including me!

The story is quite simple. A man and a woman, totally different, get married as arranged by their parents. Girl is little fat but I think she is pretty enough for anyone to fall in love. She also has enough self-respect to stand against any injustice. Guy is pretty and slim but couldn’t even clear his 10th exam. Girl is well educated and to mention here, the first day they meet, she asks his qualification! The boys side lie about it that he is graduate but still prefers to carry forward his dad’s business of cassettes.

The girl figures out everything on her first day itself. But she still loves her husband. So she tries to win his heart till the point when he crosses the line. Then she files for a divorce!

But it is not about their divorce. It is how eventually they fall in love with each other! Yeah, Happy ending!

The movie is very simple. Very low budget. But nicely made. Considers all small things that people care about. The supporting cast has also done wonderful job!
It makes you smile throughout. Even in sad situations, I had a smile on my face, because I was thinking how silly they were being and because I knew it is going to have a happy ending!

Although it is not a kind of movie one has to see in theatres, but one can still watch it in heatres to give to required credit and appreciation to the movie makers. And als

o to know what everyone is talking about!

I will give 3 ½ stars on 4.
